FAQ's
Do you accept insurance?
Yes! Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Magellan Behavioral Health, Cigna, Aetna, United Healthcare, Blue Cross Community, Meridian Medicaid, Medicare, Champ VA. I also offer self-pay options for those without coverage. If you're unsure whether your insurance covers mental health services, I recommend checking with your provider. You're also welcome to contact me and I can help guide you through the process.
What is your approach to medication management?
I take a collaborative, patient-centered approach to medication management. My goal is to find the most effective treatment plan tailored to your unique needs while minimizing side effects. Medication isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution, and I believe in open communication and regular follow-ups to ensure your treatment is working for you. If medication isn’t the right fit, we’ll explore alternative options together.
How do virtual visits work?
Virtual visits allow you to receive psychiatric care from the comfort of your home. We’ll meet via a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform, where we can discuss your concerns, review your treatment plan, and adjust medications as needed. All you need is a stable internet connection and a private space for our session. If you're new to telehealth, I’ll guide you through the process to ensure a smooth experience.
What conditions do you treat?
ADHD, anxiety and panic disorders, depression and mood disorders, OCD, PTSD and Trauma Related disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Insomnia and Sleep issues. If you're unsure whether I can help with your specific concern, feel free to reach out.
Do you provide therapy or just medication management?
While my primary focus is medication management, I incorporate therapeutic techniques into our sessions, such as CBT-based strategies, lifestyle recommendations, and coping skills. If you need ongoing therapy, I’m happy to collaborate with your therapist or refer you to one who fits your needs.
What should I expect during my first appointment?
Your first appointment is a comprehensive evaluation where we’ll discuss your mental health history, current symptoms, and treatment goals. We’ll go over potential medication options (if appropriate), and I’ll answer any questions you have. My goal is to ensure you feel heard, understood, and confident in the next steps.
Duration: Typically 60 minutes
Follow-ups: Shorter sessions to track progress and adjust treatment as needed
How often will I need follow-ups?
Follow-up frequency depends on your treatment plan, but typically:
-
After starting a new medication → A check-in within 2-4 weeks to assess effectiveness and side effects
-
Ongoing medication management → Every 1-3 months, depending on your needs
-
Stable, long-term patients → Can be spaced further apart with at least an annual visit
I always encourage open communication—if you have concerns or need adjustments between scheduled visits, you can reach out.
Can you prescribe controlled substances (e.g., stimulants for ADHD, benzodiazepines for anxiety)?
Yes, I am licensed to prescribe controlled substances when clinically appropriate. However, I follow evidence-based guidelines and state regulations when prescribing these medications.
For ADHD treatment, a thorough evaluation is required before prescribing stimulants, and follow-ups are necessary to ensure safe and effective use.
For anxiety disorders, benzodiazepines are prescribed conservatively and typically as a short-term option. I focus on long-term strategies such as SSRIs, therapy, and coping techniques for sustained relief.
What if I need a medication refill?
If you’re an existing patient and need a refill, please request it at least 3-5 days before running out to allow time for approval and pharmacy processing. Some controlled medications may require monthly follow-ups before refills.

Do you offer in-person appointments?
Currently, I offer both in-person and telehealth-only appointments, allowing you to receive care from the comfort of your home. However, some treatment plans may require periodic in-person visits, such as:
-
Initial evaluations for certain conditions
-
ADHD treatment requiring stimulant prescriptions (depending on state regulations)
-
Patients needing physical assessments alongside psychiatric care
-
Other cases where in-person care is clinically necessary
-
If an in-person visit is required, I will discuss this with you and provide guidance on scheduling. If you prefer in-person care, let me know, and we can determine the best option for your needs.
